Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The air is crisper, the scents get better, and the leaves turn more beautiful. Here are some fun fall date ideas that take advantage of the beautiful weather and changing colors.
List of Fall Date Ideas
1. Go on a Hike
Head out on a cool fall hike. It is so cozy to dress in layers and view those beautiful changing leaves while walking around.
2. Kayaking
Fall kayaking is a completely different experience. The colors are beautiful and the weather is more enjoyable to paddle in. Just make sure you’re wearing appropriate gear to stay warm (dress for the water)!
3. Go Out for a Warm Beverage
Fall is a time for warm beverages. Head out to your local coffee house and hang out there with your partner. You can get a beverage and take a walk or stay and chat for a while.
4. Indoor Gun Range
If one or both of you are interested in shooting, head to a local indoor gun range. You can rent a new type of gun to use for the night and pick a fun target to practice on.
5. Scary Movie Marathon
Interested in scary movies? Hunker down for a cozy movie night at home with your favorite scary movies. If scary movies aren’t your thing, just pick something festive for the season, such as Harry Potter or Twilight.
6. Dinner & Sunset
The sun is starting to set earlier these days. Take full advantage of that by eating your dinner together at home and watching the sunset. Even if you don’t have a clear view, watching the sky change colors at night is beautiful.
7. Local Festival
Fall seems to be a time of festivals. Find one near you and head there for the day or evening. Around here we have many different versions of Oktoberfests to check out, with craft booths, food booths, and live music. It can make for a great time out!
8. Apple Picking
Apple picking is by far my favorite fruit to pick. No sore backs from bending over the whole time – just reach and pick.
Afterward, bake a delicious dessert together that you can both enjoy.
9. Haunted House
If you’re interested in getting spooked, check your local listings for haunted house options.
10. Take a Mini Trip
Take a short weekend trip north to see the peak colors in your area. Book a stay overnight a hotel and just enjoy some alone time one-on-one.
11. Take a Class Together
These days there are many different options for taking classes. Find a local class and try out something new together. Around here I’ve seen ballroom dancing classes or baking/cooking courses. There’s just something fun about bonding over a new experience together.
12. Get Creative Together
There are so many ways to get creative with your partner. You could pick a new project around the house to do together. If that isn’t your thing, look for a local painting, pottery, or other make your own craft places nearby. Then you get to bring your fun creations home.
13. Axe Throwing
New in the last few years (at least around here) is axe throwing. This will typically be combined with a bar, so you can grab a few drinks after you try your hand at throwing an axe.
14. Escape Rooms
If you’re looking for a way to get your mind working and to join your partner in solving a mystery, check out a local escape room. It can make for a fun adventure.
15. Couples Massage
For some solid rest and relaxation, book yourself a couples massage. It is a nice way for both of you to recoup and relax.
Head Out for that Fall Date!
Don’t let the shorter days get you down. Make sure to plan some time for you and your partner to continue to connect this season.
Part of what helps couples continue to have a strong bond is having continued positive experiences together. The more positive experiences you can weave into your everyday life with one another, the better off you’ll be.
One of the ways to weave in those positive experiences is to go on dates that are enjoyable for each of you. So make sure to head out, connect, and enjoy each other’s company.
