This week I’m going to share 5 of my favorite Instagram accounts for Moms. These accounts go into so many great details of things impacting motherhood, parenting, and mental health.

Honestly, these are resources I wish I would have had years ago when having a child was first a thought in my mind. I have learned so much from each of them and am so grateful for them sharing their knowledge.

Each of these accounts shares so many useful tips or offers serious validation on feelings you may have during motherhood. They show you real struggles and real issues that come up over and over again during motherhood.

Here is my list of the 5 best Instagram accounts for moms.

Expecting and Empowered

Expecting and Empowered has many great details on pregnancy, birthing, and post-partum care. Krystle and Amy are sisters. Krystal is a women’s physical therapist and entrepreneur. Amy is a nurse, personal trainer, doula in training, and entrepreneur.

These ladies get into the details no one tells you about your body during birth and after. They talk about it all and offer excellent tips for so many struggles you may experience with your body during pregnancy and afterward.

If you like working out, they also offer some amazing workout guides that are specialized for pregnancy and post-partum care.

I’m about halfway through the post-partum one now and it has significantly helped me with some lingering issues I’ve had since pregnancy.

One issue I had that I went to a women’s health specialist on was a little bit of leakage. The physical therapist helped me with the leakage and offered some tips on the frequency of peeing.

However, once I started the post-partum workout guide, I noticed that the frequency of my bathroom breaks decreased, which was amazing.

The workouts also helped with some sciatica pain that started during pregnancy. Not only that, but I also learned the proper way to tighten my full abdomen during a workout.

If you are a soon-to-be mama or have recently had a child, this account would make an excellent follow.

Kate Borsato

Kate Borsato is a psychologist located in Canada. She specializes in perinatal mental health.

This means she covers all things mom-related that you can experience starting in pregnancy through the post-partum period and on.

I love that she gives all sorts of tips on how to help manage issues that may come up throughout the course of motherhood.

The other part about her account that I love is how she validates your feelings. She will tell you that it is okay to be overwhelmed in motherhood and also still love your baby. It’s just nice to know that it is okay to feel all the feelings and that all moms get overwhelmed sometimes.

A few months ago she held the “Vibrant Mama Summit” which brought a ton of amazing resources together in one spot to talk about all issues mama-related. There were so many experts in motherhood, relationships, mental health, and so much more all gathered together with detailed interviews for each person.

She also held nightly “group sessions” where all the mama’s who paid for the VIP course could hop on zoom and talk about their struggles together. It was such an informative and heartwarming event and I learned so much.

She does have some courses you can purchase to help with some of the more difficult areas of motherhood. I just purchased her newest course, Mama Calm yesterday and I’m excited to get started!

Big Little Feelings

Big Little Feelings is an account dedicated to helping you through the toddler stages of parenting.

The two ladies who started the account are friends and are such a great combo. Deena is a child therapist and new mom. Kristin is a mama of two toddlers.

Together these ladies post relatable stories about parenting and toddler life. They offer excellent tips on a variety of topics from tantrums to power struggles to sharing to whining.

They pretty much cover every topic you could ever struggle with while raising toddlers.

Big Little Feelings does offer a course called “Winner the Toddler Stage,” which I haven’t tried yet.

However, given the increased difficulty of issues coming up with my daughter over the past month, I am getting close to splurging on their course.

Don’t think you have to get the course to get all the tips though! They have so many saved stories with tips and are posting helpful blurbs every week.

Kids.Eat.in.Color

Kids.Eat.in.Color is a new account I recently started following. Jennifer is a nutritionist that offers tips on helping your kids eat.

She posts all sorts of tips on how to talk to your kids about food to teach them about food. Here, it’s not about pressuring your kids to eat.

It’s about teaching them about the food. She’ll give you tangible examples of what to say to your kids about various types of food, such as “red food gives you a strong heart.”

She also gets into proper food portions for the age of the child and how to approach the response when your child asks for food you don’t want them to have.

Overall, she’s very relatable and offers so many good feeding tips that I am already implementing with my daughter.

HERSelf

HERSelf is a podcast run by two friends, Abby and Amy. These two ladies are so down-to-earth and cover so many good topics for mamas to hear.

In their podcast, they cover a wide variety of topics from relationships to motherhood to mental health, finances, and more. They aren’t afraid to get into those topics that are so often avoided in real life.

Abby and Amy give examples from their own lives that make them so incredibly easy to relate to. As their intro says they get “vulnerable and real” with so many examples out of their own lives.

They bring in experts to talk about various topics or do research to discuss how the topics show up in their own lives. Every now and then, they bring their husbands onto the podcast and interview them.

I love that their husbands are willing to open up and share where the pain points are in their relationships or past struggles they had in parenting.

Abby and Amy make a great pair, complementing each other’s personalities perfectly.
